As a local to Santa Fe who is keen on saving money when traveling between the cities, I have explored the various transportation options thoroughly, so you don’t have to.

Here’s to helping keep some more money in your pocket for your trip!

Rent a Car in ABQ

Renting a car will most likely be the most popular option for many who are trying to get from Albuquerque’s Sunport Airport to Santa Fe.

This is the best option for travelers who are looking to explore more of Santa Fe and the rest of the state. If you are only going to be visiting Santa Fe then having a car is not a necessity and one of these other travel options will be much better suited for you.

New Mexico Rail Runner (NMRX)

The New Mexico Rail Runner is an awesome travel option between Albuquerque Airport and Santa Fe.

It’s personally my favorite because of the comfortable ride experience and lack of driving required.

Albeit easy, it’s a slight inconvenience to grab a 10 minute Uber or Lyft to connect to the service.

If time is not of the essence, you can also take the free bus from the ABQ airport to downtown but takes a little more than an hour.

One way price for adults is about $10!

Another excellent option to get to Santa Fe from the Albuquerque Airport is Groome Transportation.

Groome is a full service sprinter transportation company that runs comfortable and spacious vans every hour

The price to book a one way seat with Groome is about $50!

Uber/Lyft/Taxi

Taking an Uber, Lyft, or Taxi will easily be the most expensive option for getting to the city different from Sunport Airport.

Rates tend to be around the $100-$120 mark during regular hours and probably creep a 15-20% more during quieter times.
