For when: Your hotel is near the plaza, studying up at Santa Fe’s library (across the street) or want to talk Hawaii story with the wonderful owner, Dave Black.
Agapao is conveniently tucked away just a few blocks away from Santa Fe’s plaza, and adjacent to one of Santa Fe’s Best Asian restaurants, Izmi Sushi Bar.
The really good coffee label is completely accurate and also offers some excellent Posa’s food options and other baked goods. For all the history nerds out there, Agapao, is greek for Love.
Parking: Tough but typically ok in early mornings

For when: you need one of the closest coffee shops to the downtown plaza with a great 2nd story deck / ample indoor seating.
Situated in the Santa Fe Arcade, 35 North is a very easy to miss coffee shop in Santa Fe. Now that you know it’s whereabouts, don’t skip out on this quality coffee shop.
Besides it’s tasty pastries and coffee, their outdoor patio is a lovely spot for a morning meetup, solo book reading session or downtown museum refuel.
Parking: Makes this downtown cafe hard to enjoy.

Sky Coffee
For when: You are looking to grab an amazing cup of Coffee before, after, during the Santa Fe Farmers Market, or want to use excellent Wifi in a lovely outdoor setting.
Conveniently located next to the New Mexico Rail Runner, this coffee shop is always buzzing during the Santa Fe Farmers Market and for good reason.
The Coffee is excellent and the scenery lovely. Grab a cup to go and explore the surrounding railyard area

Food: In my opinion, they serve some of Santa Fe’s Best Croissants, and other goods I have not tried yet. If it’s an overloaded Chocolate croissant, you will be in heaven.

For when: you need a coffee shop with great atmosphere, spacious seating, and centrally located near the railyard
Check out Iconik Cofffee in Santa Fe for it’s solid coffee and spacious interior. The outdoor patio is also a great place to catch up with friends or dive into your favorite novel.
Iconik has plenty of indoor/outdoor space so this makes it a great coffee shop in Santa Fe to work at! Additionally, there’s a coworking space in the same building if you need a bit more no frills options!

Collected Works Bookstore & Coffeehouse
For when: you need a quite respite to get some work done in the heart of historic downtown Santa Fe or just picked up a new book with coffee.
Collected is a hard to beat spot in Santa Fe as it’s smack dab in the middle. It’s nice if you want quite as it’s a library, and has plenty of places to sit.

For when: you need quality coffee close to Canyon Road.
Downtown Subscription is one of the closest coffee shops to Canyon Road for those who need a resting stop between browsing galleries or a quick pick-me-up to go. Adjacent to Garica Books, Downtown Subscription is a bit of a tucked-away gem.
Parking: Not very good. Best suited for bikes or small cars.

This location sandwiched between the Santa Re Rail Runner and Domino’s, is in the heart of the cities main roads, making it a great idea to stop by after fueling up.
Parking: Terribly small lot but still better than nothing.
Locals Tip: Their drive through although can get backed up, still a great option for those who don’t want to fuss with going in before hitting the Santa Fe trails!

For when: you randomly stumbled into this New Solana Shopping Center Cafe after seeing the hoards of locals gathered around tables outside.
Most visitors don’t venture over to the New Solana Shopping Center, but you would be remiss to miss this hidden gem in Santa Fe.
Betterday Cafe arguably does one of the Best Breakfast Burritos in Santa Fe and town and also does phenomenal coffee.
Stop by the Co-Op next door if you need anything else for the day before exploring the high desert!

Java Joe’s & Groovy Bean Coffee Roasters
For when: you are planning your great escape to Meow Wolf or are looking something near your South Cerrillos Rd hotel.
Java Joe’s is a hidden gem in both the South Cerrillos /Rodeo Plaza Flowers & Gifts plaza off of Rodeo rd. If Java Joe’s was closer to the heart of Santa Fe, this would be my go to coffee shop, but I don’t like driving 20 minutes roundtrip in the wee hours of the morning.
However, if you’re staying south of town on Cerrillos (which is highly likely) I implore you to stop hesitating and go now.
For caffeine seekers in a rush, Java Joes Rodeo location has a drive-through window and quality pastries to complement their excellent coffee.
